Update on Sponsorship

Hey Friends and Family,

Thanks for praying so much over the last few months for our possible sponsorship-partnership with Taylor University. We recently received back an update to share with you!

At this time, they are not able to fund us this fall to launch the first tours in 2012; the funds are needed too quickly for them to come to a consensus by the time we need the money in Saddle Lights. However, they were very explicit in letting us know that the delay did not mean they were saying "no".

There is a great deal of excitement and interest by TU in exploring this for the future. Meetings and discussions have reached through various staff and faculty leaders at the University, including the Dean of Students, the President and some of his council. They see our program as a strong fit for a partnership, but the details on what that might actually look like still need to be discussed. Jesse and I will be flying out sometime in the future to meet with the Dean of Students, President, and his council to handle these discussions. Our prayer at this point is, Lord, let it be next year if not this one.

Jesse and I continue to encounter teens that are starving for deep teaching and truth. Some have been angry at their inability to find deeper study of God's word, some have become confused about their faith in the midst of their surroundings, others are actively growing in their faith, but most all of them are hungry. Hungry for more of Jesus, for deeper teaching, guidance from the Scriptures, mentorship, and deep growth. They are starving to receive it, we are starving to give it!

Please pray with us that if the Lord does not fund it for this year, that He would for the next. But in all things, we trust in His perfect timing and plan.

Taylor's possible sponsorship does not mean we are done asking for your support! If we are sponsored by the University, all of the funds you give between now and then will go directly towards enabling a student to bike across America: their trail fee will be directly reduced by your giving, enabling a greater variety of students to experience the life changing truth of God's word by biking across America.
