The rain finally stopped falling for a few hours last night! I had Kelly ride to work and meet me for the ride home, but not before I made a quiet ascent up to the US Naval Observatory. It's about 5 miles from work, up a 5% grade climb. It was perfect for waking my legs up. Once we met up (after the climb) the roads were still wet, so we both ended up with grit in our teeth, mud on our faces, and spray lines up our back... (note from Kelly here: if you're always the one getting pulled, you're very used to this. People think you're a dirty person, but really, you're just smart. Someone else does all the work, even if you're eating their dirt!)
But can you really complain about a great bike ride??? I DON'T THINK SO! What a way to end a day... and we finally got a sunset, beautiful!
